The Chicago Bears 2006 Season

The Chicago Bears are poised to repeat as NFCN Division Champs. They return the top rated defensive unit and a much improved special teams unit. In addition, they have finally added a legitimate veteran QB in Brian Griese (who, statistically, is better over his career than any other Bears QB in their 85 year history). Certainly a statement on the Bears organization's opinion of QBs over the years. All of the Bears division rivals have a rookie head coaches, personnel changes, and new schemes to learn. The Bears have a golden opportunity to secure a playoff berth by taking advantage of their weak division.

The big questions this season (again) are on offense. Will Grossman prove himself as a pro on the field? Can Ron Turner's scheme move the sticks and spell the defense? Will the offense move out of the ranking dregs to respectability? We shall see.

Time for the offense to step it up and contribute significantly. The goal is the win the Super Bowl per Lovie Smith. The NWBs want that and a pay raise for Briggs, Vasher, and Lovie Smith.

The Chicago Bears are the oldest team in the NFL and have accumulated much history and that is captured in the site; coaches, draft picks, season by season reviews, and pro-bowlers. Over their history, the Bears have proved to fans that they can be both thrilling and frustrating on the field and in the front-office. They have had some of the greatest players ever to play and they have let some of those great players slip away to other teams. The Chicago Bears have been innovators in the game of professional football and one of the most dysfunctional organizations in the league; sometimes within the same season.

While more information can be added (and will as time moves forward), the pages in this site present Bears history and information in a summary style that is hopefully easy to use and 'meaty' enough to make it worth your while. One thing is certain about the Chicago Bears; this team would not have survived this long without its passionate and devoted fans. We have stuck with this team through the good and bad times. Despite the fact that the Bears have only had two championship titles since 1947, nothing diminishes the spirit and intestinal fortitude of the Chicago Bears fans.
